Sit down w/ LB Gary Alexander

I had the pleasure of interviewing LB Gary Alexander to get the perspective from a defensive leader.

Randy: What were your reflections from how the season ended last year?

Gary: It left a bad taste in my mouth and I am determined to not let it happen again.

Randy: Do you feel like the team has been preparing themselves to be the state champs and why?

Gary: Yes because we can only have 11 players on the field at one time and we have a good number of committed players who have been in the weight room since December.

Randy: What do you think it will take as a team to reach your goal?

Gary: Everybody has to be willing to work hard, have the desire to win as a team, and be willing to listen to the coaches.

Randy: What is your passion for playing football?

Gary: Knocking out people legally.

Randy: What do you think makes you try to motivate people around you to get better?

Gary: I want to be the weakest player on my team because that means we're a hard working disciplined team.

Randy: What do you think it takes to be a leader of this football team?

Gary: They have to hold the players accountable and someone who younger players can look up to. And their has to be more than 1 leader. The most important thing is they have to have a no nonsense for doing the wrong things.

Randy: How do you feel about new QB D.J. Gillins transferring in?

Gary: I'm on defense so I'm not to focused on him I just want him to put up points and I know he can't do it by himself.

In conclusion I got a feeling from him that their would be big expectations for the upcoming season, in fact their's a feeling of State Championship or Bust.
